I’ve been lifting for about 10 years now. In the first two years of lifting I couldn’t find a comfortable pair of gloves that wouldn’t tug at the webs between my fingers or make my hands sweat. So I stopped using gloves altogether and got gross calloused hands. That’s unacceptable when in a professional setting where you are shaking peoples’ hands and they can feel the callouses. So I searched for alternatives to gloves and first found grippads, which are poorly constructed and too soft for anybody who’s an avid lifter. About a year ago, I found these Grip Power Pads and my search ended.
These pads are rugged enough to be used almost on a daily basis for nearly a year now, without showing any signs of wear. They are comfortable and provide sufficient cushioning for general training. However, I’ve recently started lifting heavy again (405lb. deadlifts etc.) and find that they don’t provide quite as much cushioning as I need to prevent callousing unless I stack two pads in each hand.
Overall these pads are great and will be just fine once I return to regular training. Four stars (minus one for the lack of padding on heavy lifting days)
